Subscapular Bursitis causes pain under the shoulder blade in the mid upper back and can become very persistent and chronic. It responds very well to cortisone, physical medicine and manipulative therapies. 

Typical symptoms of Shoulder Bursitis include:

  • Pain/aches in the rear shoulder and mid upper back area
  • Grinding, grating and snapping sensation in the shoulder blade
  • Swelling in the same area
  • Tenderness or stiffness
  • Pain is aggravated by pulling motion
